John, Kylie, and Holden were first featured on the blog when I posted their beautiful maternity session. And then again when Holden was just about a week old. Well this cute little man just keeps growing and a few months later it was the perfect time for family photos.

As a lot of you know, I had my D700 stolen from me 2 days after I took these photos. By God's grace, I woke up in the middle of the night and had the urge to go take my memory card out of my camera (something that I NEVER do). Unable to fight the feeling, I got up, went and got my memory card, and went back to bed not really thinking much of it. That morning after my family and I left the house, my camera bag was stolen.

To make a LONG story short, I am very VERY thankful that these pictures were not lost and even more thankful for my husband who has insured all of our valuables over the years...including the camera and lenses that were stolen.

Kylie thinks she looks silly with a serious face, but I really like this picture anyways and think there is something very beautiful about it.

Ezekiel Paul

Paul & Luba were first introduced to the blog when I did their first maternity session. As the last few months went by and Ezekiel grew bigger, Paul & Luba wanted to grab a few photos before he came into the world. Luba was just as beautiful as ever. Can I also add that she was having contractions during these pictures and gave birth later this same night! :)

So 7 days later I came back for a newborn session with handsome Ezekiel Paul. Both Paul & Luba were sleep deprived yet still beaming with joy over their amazing gift. I feel truly honored as a photographer to be allowed to come into a family's home during such an intimate time that they will remember forever.

Beautiful Isabella Grace came into this world 4 weeks early at just over 5lbs. I took these pictures when Isabella was 6 weeks old and she was still the sweetest tiniest little thing no bigger than my kids were at about 2 weeks old. Now that she is getting older you would never know that she was so early or so tiny. It is amazing how premature babies just catch up!

I really love that it looks like she is dancing in her sleep in the next one!

This is The Brooks Family.

I was able to snap a few pictures of them while Ed was home for R&R amidst his deployment in the Middle East. My camera and lenses were stolen the day before this shoot, but luckily I was able to use Kevin's D300s and my amazing friend Kylie, whom I have mentioned on here a bunch, allowed me to use her 35mm lens. These are a few of my favorites from that morning. Since I was unfamiliar with that camera and the lens there were far too many shots that were out of focus and/or horribly framed. But that is how you learn and grow right?

Ed comes home next month and I will be more than ready to capture his homecoming. If my reaction to all the YouTube videos of soldiers coming home is any indication...I will be ugly crying my eyes out. I am sure no one will notice and I will have my camera to hide behind. I can't wait to see the reunion of people I care about so much.

It was the first time I ever got to ride in a stretch Excursion, both families were so kind and loving, the food and cupcakes were amazing.... no complaints here!

Chris and Shauna are getting married in less than two weeks in Colorado Springs! Even better... I'm going to be there too! WoO! I can't hardly wait.

A while back, we met up in Olympia for an awesome engagement session. I was in the middle of a last minute end of summer family camping trip and they were still just as kind and amazing as ever even though I smelled like campfire.

They love to travel, they love the outdoors, Chris is fluent in Japanese, and they both have rad jobs that send them to Asia annually. And... they are madly in love. Chris loves Shauna's crystal blue eyes and the way she looks without any makeup on and with her glasses on. The way they are together is perfect. I am so excited for them!

I even came back to the campsite with delicious cupcakes for all of my family. It was a win for everyone!

Ben and Diane had a gorgeous wedding at St. Patrick's in Tacoma. Surrounded by tons of friends and family, they said "I do" in one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen.
When I met this couple it was photographer love at first sight. It was as if I had known them forever and knew I wanted to be a part of their day. Ben and Diane both have infectious personalities and the best smiles. Every time we would meet for coffee before the wedding I grew more excited. Not only for their wedding, but just excitement for these two to start this new chapter in their life as a married couple. In addition to husband and wife, they are going to be best friends forever. If you talked to them for 30 seconds, you would say the same thing. Congrats Ben and Diane!

I love capturing this moment (above) at a wedding. Those little glances that say "Oh my gosh, we are totally doing this and I love you so much!"

These 2 kids were hilarious!!! The loved the little cameras that were on every table. The little guy even cam up to me and casually said "Looks like I am picking up a new hobby." :)

Savage Rehearsal Dinner - Ft. Nisqually at Pt. Defiance

This was the funnest idea I have ever seen for a rehearsal dinner! Taking place at Ft. Nisqually in Pt. Defiance, there was a lot to do and enjoy. The kids (and adults alike) had a great time playing games, watching demonstrations, and taking in all that the "living" history museum had to offer. I highly recommend Ft. Nisqually as a rehearsal dinner venue to anyone who has a lot of kids in their party or couples who want to surprise and delight their closest friends and family with tons of fun before the wedding chaos!

Back in June I had the pleasure of taking team portraits for my nephew's (Josiah) baseball team coached by my brother-in-law (Randy). They were a super fun, respectful and attentive group of young men. They also had a great season and took home a championship title! A win all around!

On a bit of a side note, my kids love a show called "The Backyardigans"... they have this episode about "knights" and sing a terribly catchy song that goes something like "We're Knights that's right...never ever rude, always polite....our knightly skills are out of sight!".... I could not edit these photos nor look at them now without hearing that song over and over in my head!! Maybe some of my friends who are also parents of pre-schoolers can relate!

Such a fun group of boys. I am so thankful that my brother and sister in law go out of their way to make lasting memories for their kids and put them in social situations that give them character traits that they will carry with them into adulthood.

Meet Kyle and Allison. They had a beautiful wedding at the amazing Alderbrook Resort and Spa. I was fortunate enough to be second shooting for Kylie Danielson who is very talented and a fellow Nikon gal. We got into photography around the same time and it is really fun to see how our styles grow more unique and yet compliment each other as time goes on. Kylie was 9 months pregnant at the time and thought it would be best to plan on me being there just in case Holden decided to come early. Since Holden was perfectly happy in her tummy, I had a great time being her shadow. You can check out Kylie's work from Kyle and Allison's wedding HERE!

One of the great things about a second shooter is that you have someone there the whole day that has a different perspective and view than the lead photographer. It makes for some awesome and interesting options to put in the final album.

It wouldn't be a real wedding if there wasn't a toast from dad that leaves the bride mortified!

The Purviance Family and Rebecca Rich Photography first crossed paths last November when I shot these beautiful family photos of them. Back in November, Chloe was just sitting up on her own and was pretty new to solid foods! Now she is a laughing running machine! And sweet Lily's hair looks like it has grown a foot and she looks so grown up! It is so awesome to document milestones in families' lives. I don't see how this could possibly get old.

I had to throw this one in there. While together on the tire swing Lily kept screaming "higher!" "faster!" while Cautious Cambria kept screaming "Noooo!". Needless to say, the ride together on the tire swing was brief. :)

My oh my how time flies. I could not believe that it had already been a year since I had taken pictures of this beautiful family. It seems like just yesterday I was standing on my step-stool 9 months pregnant with Abraham getting these pictures. And every other word I heard was "Are you sure you aren't going to fall?!?!"

This time around not all the extended family was in town so it was just me and the Betty's. Jackson was a little leery of me at first, but we worked it out and got some great shots.

I love this one. I love that you can't help but see the genuine love these parents have for their son. It brings me such joy to get to pause moments like this and make them last forever.

Meet The Chang Family. The littlest Chang is sweet 1 year old "Ruby". I love that Ruby knows exactly what she wants and what she doesn't want. As you can see, we were able to get some great pictures of her; but when she had enough , there were no smiles to be seen. :) In the end, she avoided direct eye contact all together. That's OK though. The pictures are still adorable and I accomplished exactly what I set out to do: an awesome family portrait!

I took these pictures a while back with one of my photography partners in crime Erin Wakeman. I had all these great ideas for cute invites for Abraham's first birthday but... pneumonia, ear infections, sinus infection and bronchitis put a damper on that real quick. Alas I am 100% better and the pictures remain. No complaints here. Please enjoy some sweet pictures of my sweet boy.

This is a picture of Hope from 1 year ago. She still had baby cheeks and all her baby teeth. What an incredible year it has been. As a photographer and a mommy, I find it completely appropriate to compile some of my favorite captures of sweet Hope. I will do the same for Abraham in a couple weeks when he turns 1 and Cambria in July when she turns 3.

Holden is on the way! - Lakewood Maternity and Family Photography

Johnny and Kylie are amazing and beautiful people inside and out. They will be welcoming "Holden Lee" next month. It was pure joy getting to do a maternity session with them.
Since Kylie is a very talented photographer herself, I had a little unspoken anxiety about the finished product. Thankfully, I could not be happier with how these images turned out.
I can't wait to do a newborn session with Holden! Looking at his parents, he is sure to be a super cute kid!

I think this one is my favorite. It is so sweet!

Serena - Auburn Family Photography

This is sweet 18 month old Serena. This was a great session. When I arrived, Serena's grandma told me all she wanted was pictures of Serena doing the things that she loves to do while she is at grandma's house. So fun.

She loves to play the keyboard and sing out a few notes.

Reading books upside-down... :) I love this as it reminds me so much of my girls at this age.

Clara - Auburn Family Photography

Meet Clara. She was 10 weeks old when these pictures were taken. She was tiny, sweet and temperamental just as any perfect 10 week old should be. This little lady lucked out in the "awesome parent" department and has lots of years of love and laughter ahead of her. A lucky girl to be sure.

I was even able to capture some pictures of Clara's big dinosaur-loving brother Micah. :)

Cali - 3 Months - Tacoma Baby Photography

Cali was first introduced to my blog 3 months ago when I was able to capture some darling newborn pictures of her. Some of my favorites to date.
Recently I took some 3 month pictures of her and she was not very happy to have my camera shoved in her face. But considering the first picture is where we started, it only got better from there. Even her mad face is just about the cutest thing ever.

Her round head sure fills out this bunny hat a lot more than it did 3 months ago!
